DIRECT PUBLIC ACCESS BARRISTERS

If you need a lawyer to help you in the Family Court you can either do things the traditional way - and first employ a Solicitor to run your case, with that Solicitor then instructing a Barrister to represent you in court.

Or you can act as a 'Litigant in Person' and instruct a Barrister yourself - for the advice and representation you want and need.

Going 'direct' tends to save clients time and generally costs a fraction of the usual costs of getting legal help the traditional way.

Direct Access is not suitable for everyone or every case and you should read this guide before deciding to instruct a Barrister.

Richard Balchin was qualified in 1997 and has 25 years practising experience at the Bar specialising in Family Law work primarily in :
